88-Year-old Charged In Elmhurst With Obstructing ID: Cops

In another case, two drivers who crashed got into an argument and were charged with disorderly conduct, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police charged people with obstructing identification, disorderly conduct and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Obstructing ID

  • An 88-year-old Wood Dale woman was cited about 10 p.m. Thursday at Mariano's, 678 N. York St., on a charge of obstructing identification. Police said they saw suspects linked to a previous retail theft acting suspiciously. Mariano's recovered merchandise that wasn't paid for. The woman was released.

Disorderly conduct

  • A 45-year-old Stone Park man and a 23-year-old Broadview man were arrested about 11:30 p.m. Saturday on charges of disorderly conduct. The 45-year-old man was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving an uninsured car. Police said the men got into a fight after a crash at North and West avenues. They were released.

DUI

  • A 27-year-old Addison man was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Friday at Lake Street and Grand Avenue on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and possession of open alcohol. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 37-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 500 block of South Parkside Avenue was arrested about 8 p.m. Friday on a count of DUI and two counts of endangering the life of a child. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 40-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 300 block of South Sunnyside Avenue was arrested about 9 p.m. Friday at the Extended Stay America hotel, 550 W. Grand Ave., on charges of DUI, unlawful possession of marijuana in a car and illegal possession of alcohol in a car. He was arrested when officers responded to a fight in progress. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 26-year-old Itasca man was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Saturday at North and West avenues on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 22-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 900 block of North York Street was arrested about 7:30 a.m. Saturday in the 800 block of North Adele Street on charges of DUI and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Police said they found the man asleep behind the wheel. He was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 36-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of North West Avenue on charges of DUI, attempted obstruction of justice, criminal property damage, driving an uninsured car, illegal possession of alcohol by a driver, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Police said they responded to a crash involving the man's minivan and multiple parked cars. He was taken to the police station and then released.
