OAK BROOK, IL – A man and a woman were arrested after a high-speed chase in connection with a retail theft at an Oak Brook store, authorities said.

The pursuit ended on 17th Street in Maywood when Coleman rear-ended a pickup truck, police said. Maywood is seven miles away.
Coleman was charged with felony aggravated fleeing and eluding. Powell was charged with felony burglary and retail theft.
DuPage County Judge Susan Alvarado granted prosecutors' request to keep Coleman in jail until her trial, but denied a similar request for Powell.
"What I find particularly disturbing in this case is the allegation that Ms. Coleman attempted to flee the scene at a high rate of speed at one of the busiest intersections in the county in the middle of a Saturday afternoon while the roads were slick with snow," DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in the news release. "Thankfully, no innocent motorists or pedestrians were injured or killed."
