Ammunition Brought To Elmhurst School: Cops
The student was removed from class and searched, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – A student brought three rounds of ammunition Wednesday morning to Visitation Catholic School, 851 S. York St., Elmhurst police said.
Police said no gun was involved and that the elementary student brought the rounds to show other students.
Another student told a parent, and the parent contacted school administrators, police said in a news release.

As a result of the discovery, the school was placed on a "soft lockdown" while police and school administrators investigated. The student was removed from class and searched, police said.
The school's normal operations have resumed.

"We thank the student who witnessed the situation for telling a parent and keeping the school safe," the police department said. "If you see something, say something."
