β’ Krishnamoorthi Delivers $1 Million for Major Lake Michigan Water Infrastructure Project to Provide Clean Drinking Water and Combat Microplastics (house.gov) β Elmhurst just hosted Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi and the DuPage Water Commission as they announced $1 million in federal funding to advance a massive Lake Michigan Regional Water Supply Initiative. The 15βyear, $3 billion project aims to modernize water infrastructure, treat microplastics and PFAS, and deliver safer drinking water to up to 2 million residents across DuPage and Cook counties.

β’ Edwards stars for McAuley with 114 goals (beverlyreview.net) β A standout Chicago prep soccer scorer, Calli Edwards, has chosen Elmhurst University in Elmhurst to continue her playing and academic career after deβcommitting from Carthage College. The Mt. Greenwood resident piled up 114 goals at Mother McAuley, worked intensely to improve her speed, and says Elmhurst's program and academics ultimately felt like the right fit despite being just 30 minutes from home.

β’ Casten, officials talk about food insecurity (beverlyreview.net) β Elmhurst's Walk-In Assistance Network and Elmhurst-Yorkfield Food Pantry joined Rep. Sean Casten and other groups to discuss rising food insecurity and SNAP changes affecting local families. Leaders described more firstβtime pantry visitors, newly unhoused residents, and undocumented neighbors seeking help, while Casten floated ideas to ease SNAP benefit cliffs and backed allowing hot foods like rotisserie chickens for recipients.
