• Elmhurst Cop-Biting Suspect Says Partner 'Hit Me, Obviously': Police (patch.com) — Elmhurst police describe responding to a July domestic disturbance where a woman was shoved from a moving vehicle on North Indiana Street, then later bit an officer and was charged with felony aggravated battery. The woman, who also faces an obstruction charge, was treated at Elmhurst Hospital after being sedated and restrained. The man involved, who lives with her in Lockport, faces multiple misdemeanor domestic-related charges.
   

• ICE Jail Unlikely In Elmhurst, Given State Law: Official (patch.com) — An Elmhurst alderman says a new Illinois law effectively rules out a federal immigration jail in town by banning such facilities near homes, schools, parks, and other sensitive sites. He told the City Council that Elmhurst's dense development leaves no qualifying parcels, offering residents an extra layer of protection even though the federal government controls its own land.
