Elmhurst Residents, Loyola Doctors Named to Chicago Magazine's ‘Top Doctors for Women’ List

Elmhurst residents Dr. Thomas McKiernan and Dr. Ivan Pacold are two of 16 Loyola physicians named to Chicago magazine's January list of Chicago's Top Doctors for Women.

Dr. Thomas McKiernan was recognized for excellence in caring for patients with heart disease. Dr. Pacold was named for excellence in the treatment of cholesterol lipid disorders, heart disease in the elderly and preventive cardiology.

Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a health-care research and information company, compiled the list after surveying physicians and the medical leadership of top hospitals to identify "highly skilled, exceptional doctors."

Linda Brubaker, MD, senior associate dean for clinical and translational research at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine appears on the cover.

Also on the list, for gynecologic endocrinology and infertility is Jaafar Afshar, MD, and for cardiovascular disease is Dr. Lloyd Klein and Dr. Lou Ivanovic, all are affiliated with Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, which is part of the Loyola system.
