Another Disturbance At Elmhurst Hotel Under City Microscope: Cops

Earlier this year, the city gave the hotel a chronic nuisance warning.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving domestic disturbances, disorderly conduct, trespassing, soliciting, threatening messages and theft. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Domestic disturbances

  • A man told police that he ordered an Uber to pick him up after finding out a woman had given her phone number to another man. The woman then pushed the Uber-seeking man to stop him from getting into the car. The incident took place about 1:30 a.m. Monday at Clarion Inn, 933 S. Riverside Drive. Police saw no injuries. The incident was documented, and a family shelter service was notified. Clarion Inn received a chronic nuisance warning from local police earlier this year.
  • A man in the 800 block of South Hawthorne Avenue told police that he left his house for the night because of a disagreement with a family member. When he returned about 10 a.m. Tuesday, he was locked out of the house. The other family member admitted to slapping the man. Neither person wanted to press charges, so no one was arrested.

Disorderly conduct

  • A 55-year-old Johnson City, New York, man was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Super Ego Holding, a trucking company at 677 N. Larch Ave., on a charge of trespassing on private property. He was released, but returned to the property a half hour later. This time, he was charged with disorderly conduct and trespassing. He was released again.

Trespassing

  • A person refused to leave about 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa, 624 N. York St. The person was given a no-trespass notice.

Soliciting

  • A 23-year-old Clayton, California, man was cited Monday in the 200 block of North Myrtle Avenue on a charge of soliciting without a permit.

Threatening messages

  • A resident in the 100 block of North Richard Avenue told police Wednesday that he received several threatening messages from a stranger demanding money for unpaid services. An investigation is pending.

Theft

  • Two suspects stole a metal planter and a metal dolly about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from a backyard in the 700 block of North Geneva Avenue.
