Armed Men Arrested In Oak Brook, Riding In Car Tied To Robbery: Cops
One of the men was wearing a $90,000 necklace that is believed to have been stolen in New York, police said.
OAK BROOK, IL – Three Chicago men who were in a car connected to an armed robbery of a New York jewelry store were arrested this week in Oak Brook, authorities said.
They were identified as Isaiah Dukes, 26; Travon Garland, 19; and Jeremiah Dawson, 21.
On Wednesday, Oak Brook police learned that a car connected to a suspect in the holdup of the New York jewelry store was at a shopping center in the 2100 block of 22nd Street, according to a news release from DuPage County prosecutors.

Officers followed the blue Dodge out of the shopping center's parking lot. The Dodge's driver made several illegal maneuvers before he sped away, police said.
Officers from multiple police departments joined the pursuit as well as a Chicago police helicopter.

The driver stopped on West Higgins Avenue in Chicago, with all three men getting out of the car. They were arrested shortly after.
In searching the car, officers found a loaded Glock 29 with a laser, an extended magazine and a switch that converts the weapon into a fully automatic machine gun, police said.
Officers also said they discovered a loaded Glock 19 with a 50-round drum magazine and a defaced serial number.
Police alleged Dukes was wearing a necklace valued at $90,000. It was believed to have been connected to the New York armed robbery.
"The allegations that these men, none of whom were legally allowed to own a firearm, were heavily armed and led authorities on a high-speed chase during rush hour in the middle of the holiday shopping season are simply outrageous," DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in the news release.
DuPage County Judge Joshua Dieden granted prosecutors' request to jail the men until trial.
The three men were charged with the felonies of possession of a loaded machine gun and possession of a gun with a defaced serial number.
Dawson and Garland were charged with felony possession of a weapon or ammunition by a felon.
Dukes was charged with theft of stolen goods valued at $10,000 to $100,000. Dawson was charged with being an armed habitual criminal.
