Armed Robbery Suspect Seen In Oak Brook: Cops
The man led police on a chase, crashing into cars along the way, police said.

OAK BROOK, IL – A man who was suspected of holding up a woman at gunpoint in Schaumburg was spotted Thursday afternoon at the Oak Brook mall, authorities said.
The man, identified as 28-year-old Jaquan Wilkins of Chicago, then fled from officers in a gray Mazda 6, according to a news release from DuPage County prosecutors.
Wilkins crashed into two cars and then headed west on Interstate 88. Later, he was on Ogden Avenue and threw a loaded Glock 43 9mm gun out his window, prosecutors said. Officers later recovered it.

On Ogden, officers placed spikes designed to flatten tires. Wilkins crossed them and struck an unoccupied police car before coming to a stop, police said.
He was then arrested. He was out on bond in Will County on charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery. (Those charges were filed before the state's law abolishing cash bail took effect in mid-September.)

Departments assisting the effort were from Elmhurst, Hinsdale, Downers Grove and Schaumburg.
"These collaborative efforts not only took a gun off the streets, but also resulted in the capture of a man suspected of robbing a woman at gunpoint," DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in the news release.
Wilkins was charged with illegal possession of a firearm, criminal damage to public property, aggravated fleeing and eluding, and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, all felonies.
A DuPage County judge ordered that Wilkins remain in jail.
