Assault Suspect Flees Bensenville Cops: Prosecutors
The man was accused of pointing a gun at someone else at a gas station.

BENSENVILLE, IL – A man who pointed a gun at someone else at a gas station led officers on a chase starting in Bensenville late Friday night, police said.
Carlos Rivera, 44, of Schiller Park, was ordered jailed until his trial, DuPage County prosecutors said in a news release.
Shortly before midnight, a Bensenville officer tried to stop Rivera's car near Irving Park and York roads, but Rivera sped away, nearing 90 mph, prosecutors said.

He ran red lights at Irving Park Road's intersections with York, Seymour Avenue and Mannheim Road, police said.
He jumped a curb and drove into oncoming traffic near Cumberland and Bryn Mawr avenues in Chicago, police said.

The pursuit ended when Rivera turned into an alley, boxed himself in and ran away, police said. He was found shortly after in a Chicago backyard.
During the chase, Rivera was accused of throwing an airsoft gun out the window while he was headed east on Interstate 90, near the Interstate 294 exit.
Rivera was charged with felony counts of aggravated fleeing and aggravated driving with a suspended license and multiple misdemeanors, including reckless driving and aggravated assault.
