Battery, Disorderly Conduct: Elmhurst Cops
Police charge two men with aggravated battery Friday, according to reports.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of aggravated battery, burglary, retail theft, disorderly conduct and soliciting without a permit. Here is information from the latest arrest log:
Aggravated battery
- Matthew T. Dalton, 31, of Wheaton, was arrested Friday on a charge of aggravated battery in a public place, DUI, criminal damage to property, leaving the scene of an accident and transportation of open alcohol by a driver. The incident was about 3:30 p.m. April 22 in the 600 block of North Avenue. He was released on bond.
- Krzysztof Nawrot, 49, and Melissa S. Straley, 30, both of Chicago, were arrested about 1 p.m. Friday at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St., on charges of retail theft exceeding $300, retail theft (prior convictions), burglary and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Nawrot was also arrested on a Glenview warrant and a charge of aggravated battery. Police said the two were stealing a cart full of merchandise when they fled. Upon running away, they struck a person, causing a minor injury. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.

- Harvey L. Segal, 77, of Elmhurst, was cited about 4:30 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of North Addison Avenue on a charge of disorderly conduct, parking blocking a private driveway and parking where curbs are painted yellow. Police said Segal was parked in the yellow-painted curb zone. The victim told officers that Segal struck the victim's car using his hand. He was released on bond.
- Victor Santiago, 40, of Carol Stream, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Sunday at West and North avenues on warrants and charges of disorderly conduct, obstructing identification and resisting arrest. Police said Santiago became belligerent and uncooperative when police were called about his disorderly conduct. He pulled away while officers were trying to arrest him. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Soliciting without permit
- Dangelo J. Gathings, 21, of Naperville, was cited about 7:30 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of East St. Charles Road on a charge of soliciting without a permit. Police said Gathings admitted to offering gutter cleaning services without a permit. He was released on bond.
