Battery, Store Burglary: Elmhurst Cops
A woman told officers that an Elmhurst Hospital employee grabbed and shoved her, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving battery, burglary, disorderly conduct, drugs, DUI, a stolen car and a cryptocurrency scam. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Battery
- A woman at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road, told police that an employee grabbed and shoved her about 6 p.m. Thursday. The woman did not want to press charges, but asked for the incident to be documented.

- A 42-year-old La Farge, Wisconsin, woman and a 34-year-old Chicago man were arrested about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at CVS Pharmacy, 110 W. North Ave., on charges of retail theft. The man, identified as David E. Harrison, also faced a charge of burglary. He was wanted on two Cook County warrants. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail, while she was released. Police said the pair stole liquor and then left the area. They were found at the Best Western hotel in Hillside.
- Paul Chandler, 35, of Sauk Village, was arrested about 4 p.m. Friday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on charges of burglary and retail theft. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Disorderly conduct
- A 46-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Friday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road, on a charge of disorderly conduct. Police said the man was drunk and threatening employees. He was served with a no-trespass notice and released.

- A 51-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 11:30 p.m. at North Avenue and Michigan Street on charges of retail theft, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, DUI (drugs), unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, improper turn at an intersection, improper lighting and failure to signal when required. Police said the 51-year-old stole two liquor bottles from CVS Pharmacy, 110 W. North Ave. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. In the same incident, a 48-year-old Chicago man was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
DUI
- A 32-year-old Berkeley man was arrested about 11 p.m. Saturday at Butterfield Road and Cadwell Avenue on charges of DUI, retail theft, expired registration, improper lighting and improper lane usage. He was released.
- A 37-year-old Wheaton woman was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of West North Avenue on charges of DUI, endangering the life of a child, possession of marijuana in a car, improper lane usage, driving an uninsured car and failure to secure a child under 8. Police said the woman was involved in a single-car crash. She was released.
Stolen car
- Robert Bovan, 43, of Rolling Meadows, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Roosevelt Road and York Street on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, DUI, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, driving with a revoked license, unlawful possession of marijuana, illegal transportation of open alcohol and battery on a police officer. Police said Bovan was driving a car stolen in Chicago. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Fugitive driver
- An officer tried to stop the driver of a Chevrolet Corvette about 3:30 a.m. Thursday at Grand and Lake for not displaying a license plate. The driver sped away, last seen heading north on Route 83.
Theft
- A person told police Thursday that someone removed personal items from a semi-truck while it was being repaired between Jan. 3 and Jan. 13 at Super Ego Holding, 677 N. Larch Ave.
Crypto scam
- A resident in the 300 block of South Sunnyside Avenue told police Thursday that he wire-transferred money to a suspect believing he was investing in cryptocurrency.
Unwanted calls
- A resident in the 100 block of South Kenmore Avenue told police Thursday that she has received numerous unwanted calls from her ex-boyfriend. The officer told the suspect to stop communicating with the woman.
Upset person
- A person became upset and yelled at employees about 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. An investigation is pending.
Fraud
- A resident in the 700 block of North Willow Road told police Saturday that he sent money through Zelle and Apple Pay to two sellers on Facebook Marketplace for tickets he never received.
Retail theft
- A person removed a case of beer and left about 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Shell gas station, 654 W. North Ave. The person returned to buy a second case of beer, but was denied. The store did not want to press charges, but asked for the suspect to be given a no-trespass notice.
