Be Ready for Elmhurst Snow Rules
Forecast says there is a 60 percent chance of snow in Elmhurst.
ELMHURST, IL — This is the snowstorm that may not happen, but just in case, it's probably a good time to remind Elmhurst residents of snow parking rules.
When more than two inches of snow falls, no parking is allowed on city streets until plowing has been completed. Any cars that remain will be towed at the owner's expense, according to the snow parking rules on the city's website.
After a snowfall, main roads are cleared first, then neighborhood streets and other less-traveled roadways are taken of. According to the website, snow is typically removed from the center to the curb in a series of four passes. Residents are reminded to wait until city crews have completed their work before clearing their driveway approaches because it is not possible to complete plowing without pushing some snow onto driveway approaches, the website said.
