On Wednesday, Guzman's bond in connection with the pursuit was set at $750,000, with the requirement that he pay 10 percent to be released.
Guzman was charged with the felonies of aggravated fleeing and eluding a police officer and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. He also faces a number of misdemeanors and petty traffic offenses.
"I have been sounding the alarm on this epidemic of fleeing and eluding for quite some time that sooner or later our luck is going to run out," DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in the news release. "This surge of motorists fleeing from police must end before someone gets killed."
