Get your pets ready for an outing to Elmhurst Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 3! At 5:00 pm we will come together on the west lawn for a Blessing of the Animals service of song and story, giving thanks to God for the creatures that bless our lives. If you’d rather not bring your pets, please bring photographs of them.

Upon conclusion of the service a therapy dog/handler team will have a short “socially-distanced” visit with attendees. This occasion marks the 100th therapy visit for Tori, a seven year old Toller Retriever and her handler, Patti Berner. The AKC (American Kennel Club) recognizes this level of dedicated volunteer service and awards the dog with the title of Advanced Therapy Dog (THDA.)

Through Ben’s Friends, the animal-assisted therapy group founded by Gail Meyers in 1989 and part of Lyons Township Dog Training Club, Tori and Patti have visited with old and young alike including students, seniors, homeless guests, and participated in special events like Morton Arboretum’s Tails on the Trails.

Come celebrate the wonders of God’s creation and our relationships with its creatures, great and small! For more information about worship at Elmhurst Presbyterian Church,
