3 Elmhurst Cases With Boyfriend Issues: Cops
The calls to police involve current and former boyfriends, according to reports.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police responded to cases involving boyfriends, an apartment fire, identity theft, a gift card scam, an airsoft shooting and eggings. Here is information from the latest police reports:
Boyfriend issues
- A woman in the 300 block of West Kimball Avenue told police Tuesday that her ex-boyfriend was threatening her. A message was left with the man to have no further contact with the woman.
- A resident in the 600 block of South Mitchell Avenue told police Sunday that her ex-boyfriend visited her house uninvited. No fight was reported, and the suspect left before officers arrived. The woman asked police to serve her ex-boyfriend with a no-trespass order. An officer tried to contact the suspect, but was unsuccessful.
- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 7 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of South Prospect. A woman said her boyfriend refused to leave during an argument. Her boyfriend was issued a no-trespass notice and told he would be arrested if he returned. The woman was told how to obtain an order of protection.

- A resident in the 500 block of West St. Charles Road told police March 25 that her husband sent her threatening text messages. An investigation is pending.
Apartment fire
- The fire department responded to a fire about 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Fellows Court. Firefighters forced entry into the residence after smoke was seen. The resident left a stove burner on with a pot on top. Firefighters aired out the apartment and re-secured the door. The victim was notified.
Identity theft

- A resident in the 400 block of East South Street told police March 25 that he tried to file his income taxes through H&R Block online, but was told his return had already been submitted. The resident had no other information.
- A resident in the 700 block of South Parkside Avenue told police that someone bought a car and opened T-Mobile and AT&T accounts using his information. The fraudulent activity took place between Jan. 16 and March 3. Police were informed March 25.
Gift card scam
- A resident in the 300 block of West Commonwealth told police March 25 that he sent gift cards to a stranger after getting a notification on his computer.
Eggings
- A car was egged while it was parked overnight March 25 in the 200 block of East Niagara.
- A house in the 100 block of South Kenmore Avenue was egged shortly after midnight Monday.
Airsoft shooting
- People told police they were shot at twice with an unknown type of airsoft gun about 8 p.m. Sunday. The first incident was at Second and Oak, the second at Berens Park, 493 N. Oaklawn. The four suspects were in a Jeep Wrangler. An investigation is pending.
