Branches And Wires Down in Elmhurst
The city urges drivers to be careful after Monday's storm.

ELMHURST, IL – In light of Monday night's storm, drivers in Elmhurst are urged to slow down and exercise care when driving because of downed tree branches, wires and debris, the city said.
As of 8:15 p.m.:
- West Avenue is closed between First and Second streets due to a downed pole. (ComEd was alerted.)
- Traffic signals at St. Charles Road and Poplar Avenue are out. (Stop signs are in place.)
- One lane of eastbound Grand Avenue between Crown and County Line Roads is closed
Blockages on residential streets have also been reported.
If you observe wires down, do not approach, but call 911. If you observe downed large parkway branches blocking streets or sidewalks, report them to 630-530-3050.
