Bridal Shop Owner Who Lost Store in 2010 Fire Will Donate Gowns to VIP Occasions Brides

Oak Lawn bridal shop owner, whose store burned down in 2010, wants to pay it forward by donating free dresses to VIP Occasions brides.

ELMHURST, IL -- An Oak Lawn bridal salon owner who lost her own store in a fire seven years ago wants to donate dresses to brides whose gowns were lost in the devastating VIP Occasions fire in Elmhurst.

Brides must be able to show proof of purchase that they purchased their gown from VIP Occasions with upcoming weddings in the next six months. Brides need only pay for alterations.

"We have selection of gowns that can be purchased off the rack," said Ronia Ghusein, third-generation owner of Eva's Bridal of Oak Lawn.

Thanks to the kindness of other bridal salons, designers and suppliers, Eva's was able to replace gowns for all but a few brides with upcoming weddings whose gowns were lost, including weddings scheduled the weekend immediately following the fire.

Eva's Bridals reopened in a brand new space at 5269 W. 95th St., Oak Lawn, almost a year to the day after the fire.

"When I heard about the fire at VIP Occasions it gave me goosebumps," Ghusein said. "My heart breaks for them."

Brides whose gowns were lost in the VIP Occasions fire and have proof of purchase, may contact Eva’s Bridal at 708-422-5999 to set up an appointment.
