British Women Arrested At Elmhurst Store: Cops

They were accused of stealing $2,000 in merchandise from the store, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of burglary, retail theft and DUI. Here is information from the reports:

Burglary

  • Kerry Doran, 45, and Roseanne Doran, 25, both of Lester, England, were arrested about 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on charges of felony burglary and retail theft. Police said the women were found with $2,000 of unpaid merchandise in a cart and stroller. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Lavelle N. Bennett, 35, of Maywood, was arrested about 2 p.m. Friday at CVS Pharmacy, 110 W. North Ave., on charges of felony burglary, retail theft, driving with a suspended driver's license and driving while using a phone. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

  • A 24-year-old woman from Chicago was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Jewel, 944 S. York St., on charges of retail theft, failure to carry a driver's license while driving and driving without insurance. She was released.

Warrant

  • A 30-year-old woman from Cicero was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Saturday on a Cook County warrant. Police arrested the woman after responding to a disturbance in the 200 block of East North Avenue. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

  • A 42-year-old man from Chicago was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday at York Street and North Avenue on a charge of DUI. The man was found to be sitting together with a 42-year-old Beloit, Wisconsin, woman in the driver's seat. He was released.
  • A 49-year-old man from Chicago was arrested about 1 a.m. Sunday at Grand Avenue and York Street on charges of DUI and possession of open alcohol. He was released.
