Burglary, DUI: Elmhurst Arrests

The following items were taken from the Elmhurst police blotter throughout the past week. Arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Jan. 28

• Jay Cherim, 26, of Villa Park, was arrested at 3:51 p.m. at St. Charles and Route 83 and charged with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured vehicle and tinted windows.
• Gabriela Krasnicka, 21, of Hanover Park, was arrested at 5:20 p.m. at York and Crestview and charged with failure to yield turning left and driving while license suspended.
• Joseph Cascella, 23, of the 600 block of West Crockett, was arrested at 9:24 p.m. in the 600 block of Crockett and charged with two counts of domestic battery. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Jan. 29

• Brent Childers, 29, of Chicago, was arrested at 5:15 p.m. in the 100 block of East Schiller and charged with possession of hypodermic syringe, possession of drug paraphernalia, burglary and retail theft. He was in possession of stole over the counter medication and was taken to DuPage County Jail.
• Ray Chism, 27, of Chicago, was arrested at 5:15 p.m. in the 100 block of East Schiller and charged with retail theft, no valid driver's license and operating an uninsured vehicle.

Jan. 30

• Yasin Gonul, 29, of Lombard, was arrested at 3:13 p.m. at Walnut Avenue and Lake Street and charged with driving while license suspended, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and using an electronic communication device while driving.
• Shane McMahon, 44, of the 300 block of Scott Street, was arrested at 10:04 p.m. at Surf and West and charged with DUI, improper lane use, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis.

Jan. 31

• Gaetano Traversa, 29, of Roselle, was arrested at 5:58 p.m. at York and Roosevelt and charged with possession of controlled substance (heroin), driving while license revoked, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and tinted windows. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Feb. 1

• Hiram Rosario, 52, of Hillside, was arrested at 2:16 p.m. in the 900 block of South York and charged with aggravated robbery. He was taken into custody in Chicago and then taken to DuPage County Jail.
• Chantel Appell, 28, of Belvidere, was arrested at 7:32 p.m. at York and Grantley and charged with possession of controlled substance (heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of hypodermic syringes and failure to wear a seat belt. She was taken to DuPage County Jail.
• Jonathon Reyes, 31, of Rockford, was arrested at 7:32 p.m. at York and Grantley and charged with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured vehicle and failure to secure a child under 8 in a child restraint.

Feb. 2

• Jorge Benitez, 36, of Stone Park, was arrested at 12:41 a.m. at North and Melrose and charged with driving while license suspended and no seatbelt.
• Jose Candia, 37, of Addison, was arrested at 2:43 a.m. at Lake and Grand and charged with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured vehicle and one tail light.
• Kainoi Saengdara, 33, of the 800 block of North Geneva, was arrested at 9:07 a.m. in the 800 block of Geneva Avenue and charged with domestic battery. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.
• Mark Calayag, 34, of the 800 block of North Geneva, was arrested at 9:07 a.m. in the 800 block of Geneva and charged with interfering with the reporting of domestic violence. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.
• Dolton Pointer, 20, of Gary, Indiana, was arrested at 5:39 a.m. in the 200 block of East Second and charged with two counts of aggravated unlawful use of weapon and aggravated unlawful restraint. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Feb. 3

• Christopher Wright, 52, of the 300 block of South Hill Avenue, was arrested at 12:06 a.m. in the 100 block of South York and charged with carrying a concealed weapon while under the influence of alcohol.
• Joshua Marsack, 40, of Lexington, was arrested at 12:53 a.m. at Route 83 and North and charged with possession of a controlled substance (crystal methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.
• Raul Gonzalez, 36, of Bellwood, was arrested at 1:29 a.m. at Grand and Lake and charged with driving while license suspended, disobeying a traffic control signal and operating an uninsured vehicle.
• Devin Sharp, 29, of Chicago, was arrested at 3:53 a.m. at York and Third and charged with DUI, endangering the life of a child and illegal parking on the road.
• William Giddens, 52, of Maywood, was arrested at 8:46 a.m. at North and Villa and charged with driving while license suspended and illegal registration covers.
• Justen Kelm, 32, of the 1000 block of South York Road, was arrested at 10:55 a.m. in the 200 block of Route 83 and charged with driving while license suspended and no front license plate.
