Business Burglary, Revoked FOID: Elmhurst Arrests

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst police made a number of arrests in recent days. Here is information from police reports:

Burglary

• Treshawn Rivers-Anthony, 22, of Milwaukee, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Friday at Shell gas station, 218 E. Butterfield, on charges of burglary, criminal damage to property and obstructing identification. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, Rivers-Anthony broke a window to enter the gas station and stole several cartons of cigarettes, a lighter and cash from the register. He was found in the area.

Revoked FOID card

• James Bernacik, 35, of Mount Prospect, was arrested 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of West Grand on charges of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and possession of firearm ammunition with a revoked FOID card. He was released on bond. According to a police report, a loaded firearm magazine was found in the center console.

DUI

• Rafael Ortiz, 32, of Chicago, was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Sunday at Route 83 and Lake on charges of DUI, failure to signal and disobeying a traffic control device. He released on bond.
• Eduard Levit, 27, of Round Lake, was arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday at North and Maple on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and one headlight. He was released on bond.
• Cedric Stamps, 46, of Chicago, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Lake and Willow on charges of aggravated DUI and aggravated driving with a revoked license. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Resisting arrest

• Ricky Jackson Jr., 25, of Chicago, was arrested about 1 a.m. Friday at Roosevelt and York on charges of aggravated resisting arrest (two counts), obstructing identification, no valid driver’s license and speeding. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, Jackson provided a false date of birth. He also resisted arrest, causing injury to two officers.

Driving violations

• Carlos Diaz, 51, of Chicago, was cited about 8 p.m. Friday at Interstate 290 and Lake on charges of no valid driver’s license and disobeying a traffic control device. He was released on bond.
• Iesha Childs, 27, of Elgin, was cited about 9 p.m. Friday at Route 83 and St. Charles on charges of driving with a suspended license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. She was released on bond.
• Amari Thomas, 24, of Villa Park, was cited about 1 a.m. Sunday at North and Railroad on charges of driving with a suspended license, no front license plate and unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver. He was released on bond.
• Miguel Flores, 24, of Crestwood, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Sunday at North and Berteau on charges of no valid driver’s license, improper use of registration and no front license plate. He was released on bond.
