Car Burglaries, Disturbance: Elmhurst Cops
Two cars were burglarized in a local neighborhood, police said. At least one was reported as unlocked.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving car burglaries, a domestic disturbance, a stolen doorbell camera, a drunk man, an attempted retail theft and damage. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Car burglaries
- Someone burglarized an unlocked car overnight March 23 in the 200 block of North Elm. A couple of blocks away, a car was burglarized between March 23 and 27 in the 100 block of North Myrtle. This was while the owner was out of town. Nothing appeared to be missing in either case. In the second instance, the owner found a Chase card that did not belong to her.
Domestic disturbance

- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at Thorntons gas station, 476 N. York St. Two people said they were in an argument, but denied it got physical. Officers found no signs of injury.
Doorbell camera stolen
- Someone removed a doorbell camera that was waiting to be installed in a house under construction in the 200 block of South Fair Avenue. It occurred between March 6 and March 27.
Identity theft

- About 8:30 a.m. Monday, a woman told police that she checked out from Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road, and a suspect gave her paperwork containing her personal information to an unrelated third person. The woman and the unrelated third person filed complaints with the hospital. The victim was given an identity theft packet.
Drunk man
- Officers and medics responded about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ace Hardware, 1028 S. York St., for a man who was intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He said he was homeless and had drunk a lot. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Attempted retail theft
- Suspects put over-the-counter medications in a cart and then abandoned the cart in another aisle about 11 a.m. Tuesday at Jewel, 944 S. York St. They left east on Butterfield Road. They are believed to have placed cardboard over their front and rear license plates to conceal them.
Excessive spam texts
- A resident in the 200 block of East Cayuga told police Tuesday about receiving an excessive amount of spam texts, emails and phone calls from numerous sources.
Damage
- Someone damaged the passenger side of a car about 10 p.m. Tuesday at Elm Creek Apartments, 3 Elm Creek.
