Car Stolen At Elmhurst Hospital: Police
In another case, a suspicious person was reported at an Elmhurst elementary school.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handled cases involving a stolen car, a suspicious man at a school, theft of tools, a shattered window, a gunshot wound and a fugitive driver. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Stolen car
- A car was stolen about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road. The theft was reported about 15 minutes later. The car was later recovered in Racine, Wisconsin. An investigation continues.

- A suspicious man was seen shortly before noon Wednesday at Conrad Fischer Elementary School, 888 Wilson St. An investigation is pending. The man was described as Hispanic, in his late 30s, having a medium build, and wearing a red knit hat, a black jacket and khaki pants.
Tool theft
- A worker went on a lunch break and left his DeWalt tools shortly after noon Tuesday in the 200 block of West Claremont Street. Upon returning, he found that his tools were stolen.

- A woman told police that her back passenger window was shattered by unknown means about 4 p.m. Monday near North Avenue and Interstate 290.
Damage
- Someone keyed a car about 7:30 a.m. Monday in a parking lot at York High School, 355 St. Charles Road. The damage was reported four hours later. An investigation is pending.
Gunshot wound
- An officer responded about 11 a.m. Wednesday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road, for a person with a gunshot wound. The patient had been shot in Chicago. The investigation was turned over to Chicago police.
Retail theft
- A retail theft suspect was found walking away about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at CVS Pharmacy, 110 W. North Ave. The person had several stolen items from the store. The person was also wanted on a Lake County warrant. Charges for burglary and retail theft are pending.
- A woman is suspected of committing retail theft from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83. She stole merchandise and left in a red Land Rover Discovery. An investigation is pending.
Fugitive driver
- About 7 p.m. Wednesday, an officer tried to stop the driver of a silver Nissan Sentra that was connected to an aggravated assault in another jurisdiction. The car was reported stolen. The driver sped away, heading west on Interstate 290. A police helicopter and state police took over the pursuit.
Violation of release
- A 25-year-old Michigan City, Indiana, man was arrested about 2 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Fellows Court on a charge of violation of pretrial release. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
