Child's Voice Early Intervention Specialist Honored in Oak Brook

The Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce honored Jessica Brock, Child’s Voice Early Intervention Specialist, on April 3, 2019 at Gibson’s Bar & Steakhouse in Oak Brook at their Annual Meeting and Awards Breakfast. Over 250 participants enjoyed breakfast, celebrated local companies and award recipients. The Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce’s annual recognition awards were designed to honor leading edge, innovative practices. Winners were presented with beautiful awards platters provide by Tiffany & Company. The Rising Star Award is presented to young professionals who display leadership in innovation, project management, research, professional development, and community impact.

“Jessica is responsible for providing listening and spoken language therapy to children with hearing loss that are just a few weeks old through the age of three,” shared Dr. Michele Wilkins, Child’s Voice Executive Director. “She has phenomenal initiative and enjoys starting new programs that serve unmet needs or reach an audience in a new way. Recently, Jessica launched a toy recycling program which encouraged families to donate toys used to practice speech sounds with young children.”

Jessica and a colleague also spear-headed the creation of a podcast at Child’s Voice that has provided education and information to parents and professionals in the field. It is an incredible resource that elevates the ability of Child’s Voice to reach more families with much needed information and support.

“Jessica is so deserving of this award,” stated Rollen Cooper, Child’s Voice Director of Early Intervention. “She is an instrumental part of our growing Early Intervention Program. From providing excellent therapeutic care to our families to creating our Podcast, a tool that can be used world-wide, Jessica’s innovative contribution to Child’s Voice and the children and families we serve is wide spread.”

Jessica holds a master’s degree in speech-language pathology and holds credentials including CCC-SLP and Illinois Early Intervention.
