Chronic Nuisance, Burglary: Elmhurst Police

The city issued a warning to a household in a local neighborhood.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst handled cases involving a chronic nuisance, a burglary, fraudulent transactions, missing drugs, a stolen tool and a DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Chronic nuisance

  • A chronic nuisance warning was issued to a household about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of North Maple Avenue.

  • A witness reported seeing six men leaving the rear cargo compartment of a semi-trailer parked in a gated lot about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday at Aim Transportation Solutions, 782 N. Industrial Drive. The men were seen leaving in two cars, believed to be a gray Toyota (possibly hatchback style) and a black Toyota sedan. They headed south on Industrial Drive. It was unknown whether anything was stolen. The men were described as black and in their 20s. One of them was said to be 6 feet to 6 feet, 2 inches, and wearing a gray hoodie and durag. Another was wearing pajama-style pants and a "Rick and Morty"-themed hoodie. An investigation is pending.

Fraudulent transactions

  • A person at Gerber Collision and Glass, 400 W. Grand Ave., told police Wednesday that he discovered several fraudulent transactions while reviewing transaction logs. An investigation is pending.

Missing drugs

  • A resident in the 200 block of East Wilson told police Wednesday that all of his prescription pills were missing from their containers in the medicine cabinet. He said he was unsure if he misplaced them. He said he did not believe anyone had taken them.

Stolen tool

  • A witness told police that he saw a man take a concrete saw, enter a car and speed away about noon Wednesday at York Meadows condos, 841 N. York St. The man was described as black with shoulder-length dreadlocks and black clothing.

DUI

  • Refugio Fernandez Jr., 23, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday at Route 83 and Roosevelt Road on charges of DUI and squealing tires. He was released on bond.
