Condos Planned For Downtown Western Springs
Downtown development would contain condos and businesses.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL — A longtime vacant lot in downtown Western Springs may finally see development, officials said Monday.
According to the village, the planned three-story building at 514 Hillgrove Ave. would contain two businesses on the first floor and eight condos on the other two. It is being proposed by Felix Lamperillo of Hinsdale-based KLM Development Group.
The lot is two blocks east of Village Hall and between an office building and a doctor's office.

In January, the Village's Planning and Zoning Committee reviewed the proposal and reached a "positive consensus" that it should continue through a staff review, according to village documents.
For the project to happen, the Plan Commission must allow the building to exceed the village's 2½-story limit.

At Monday's Village Board meeting, Trustee James John presented information about the project. He said it would mean more sales and property tax money for the village.
"It would be a nice addition to the downtown, a piece of land that has gone unused for quite a while," John said.
