Conrad Fischer Park Playground Redevelopment Begins
Modern, green and blue equipment will be installed and be designed for the 2-5 age group.

ELMHURST, IL — The Elmhurst Park District has started work on the redevelopment of the Conrad Fischer Park playground. The playground will get new structures and play surfacing this summer. Plans for the redevelopment of the playground were approved by the board in February.
According to the park district, the old playground structures were removed by a nonprofit, Kids Around the World, which repurposes playgrounds and rebuilds them in developing countries. Elmhurst Park District has worked with them previously to repurpose playground equipment from several parks, including most recently at Plunkett Park.
The playground plan includes replacing the existing playground with new equipment which allows for more climbing opportunities, providing additional seating, replacing the wood chips with a new unitary surface and constructing a barrier around the playground, according to the park district. Modern, green and blue equipment will be installed and be designed for the 2-5 age group. The project should be completed by early August.
