Convicted Felon Arrested In Oak Brook: Cops
He was found with a loaded gun and a number of drugs, authorities said.
OAK BROOK, IL – A convicted felon speeding through Oak Brook was arrested after being found with a loaded gun and drugs, authorities said.
Oh Tuesday afternoon, Hector Durruthy, 51, of Chicago, was speeding 105 mph in a 60 mph zone, according to a news release from DuPage County prosecutors.
State police troopers smelled marijuana in Durruthy's car and found marijuana, mushrooms, cocaine, methamphetamine, amphetamine, ecstasy and LSD, prosecutors said. They also discovered a loaded .380 Taurus handgun in the center armrest area, police said.

“The law is very clear. As a convicted felon, Mr. Durruthy is prohibited from possessing a firearm,” DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in the news release.
Durruthy was charged with felony counts of armed violence, unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

His bond was set at $250,000, with the requirement that he pay 10 percent to be released, prosecutors said. He was not in the DuPage County Jail as of Thursday morning.
