Cops Respond To Elmhurst Domestics: Reports

In another case, a wheelchair is stolen from a driveway in a local neighborhood, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving domestic battery, theft, harassment, damage and an abandoned car. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Domestic battery

  • Officers responded to a domestic disturbance about 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Alexander Boulevard. During an argument, a woman video-recorded a man who grabbed her arms. The man said he just reached for the recording device, but did not strike her. No signs of injury could be found. No one signed a complaint.
  • During an argument, a woman said someone pushed her about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of South Kenilworth Avenue. The suspect denied pushing the woman. Police found no signs of injuries. The woman left the house for the evening.

Theft

  • Someone stole a wheelchair from a driveway between 3 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of South Cottage Hill Road. An investigation is pending.

Harassment

  • A member of YMCA, 211 W. First St., who has been harassing other members, swore at staff about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday when he learned his account was suspended. YMCA requested a no-trespass notice for the man. It would be served if the person returns.

Retail theft

  • A woman stole merchandise about 3 p.m. Monday at Mariano's grocery store, 678 N. York St. She was described as black, heavy set, 20 to 30 years old, and wearing nurse-type clothing. She was driving a black BMW X5. An investigation is pending.

Bicycle theft

  • An unsecured black and blue Trek bicycle was stolen about 3 p.m. Wednesday in the parkway in the 500 block of South Prospect Avenue.

Damage

  • Someone broke the passenger side window of a woman's car about 9:30 a.m. Monday at LA Fitness, 620 N. York St. Her Michael Kors bag was stolen from the passenger seat. An investigation is pending.

Abandoned

  • Someone abandoned a rental car about 11:30 a.m. Monday at 609 W. St. Charles Road. The car was then towed to Avis Rental in Naperville.
