Coronavirus Disappearing At Elmhurst D-205
The latest report indicates the virus in on the wane in the local schools.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst School District 205 lifted the mask mandate more than a month ago. Since then, coronavirus cases have continued to plunge.
Last Friday, the district reported nine cases among students. That works out to about one case for every thousand students.
Four of the coronavirus cases were at York High School. Five other schools each had one.

Among staff, two tested positive as of last Friday, down from three a week earlier.
Since the beginning of the school year, the district has recorded 1,504 coronavirus cases among students and staff.

At this week's school board meeting, none of the board members or top administrators wore masks.
As of Thursday, Elmhurst Hospital reported just one patient testing positive for the coronavirus. That's down from a record high of 105 in January.
In Elmhurst, the number of coronavirus cases has plunged over the last couple of months. Last week, 30 cases were reported in the city. That works out to one for every 1,500 people in town.
The city reached a weekly high of 599 in January.
