D-205 Leader's Goals 'Kind of Softball': Board Member
But every superintendent needs a honeymoon period to evaluate the district, he says.

ELMHURST, IL — The Elmhurst School District 205 board approved goals for the superintendent for this school year.
One of the members, Jim Collins, called the goals for Superintendent Keisha Campbell, who started in July, "kind of softball."
"However, I think every new superintendent needs a honeymoon period as they evaluate the district, get their plans together and move forward from there," Collins said. "Dr. Campbell has certainly been doing that and working overtime to do that, and I think she has been doing a very good job at that."

Under one of the goals she listed, Campbell plans to have all schools develop school improvement plans for student growth in social emotional learning, math, and English and language arts.

She said she would also present to the school board a timeline for district-wide strategic planning to start in the spring of 2022.
Her other goal is to create a system for effective one-way and two-way communications with the board, staff, students and residents. She said she would share weekly the accomplishments and achievements of students, staff and the district.
Campbell, a York High School graduate, makes $225,000 a year.
