Dealership Burglary, DUIs: Elmhurst Cops
Three cars were stolen from a local dealership, police said. The front door was broken out.
ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a dealership burglary, a dog attack, an order of protection, a car burglary, DUIs and warrants. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Dealership burglary
- The front door was broken out and three cars were stolen between midnight and 7:30 a.m. Thursday at My Choice Motors, 530 W. Grand Ave. The vehicles were a silver 2011 BMW 5281, a black 2011 Audi A4 and a black Audi A6, all of which had no license plates.

- A car was burglarized between 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 Brush Hill Road. Several items were stolen.
Dog attack
- A woman told police she was walking her dog about 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of East First Street when another woman's dog came out and attacked hers. Both dogs suffered injuries during the fight. The other dog's owner was cited on a charge of having a dog at large. An animal bite form was forwarded to DuPage County Animal Services.

- A resident in the 800 block of Hawthorne Avenue told police Thursday that someone opened a Chime account with Bancorp Bank using his name. The resident contacted the bank, which closed the account.
Order of protection
- A woman in the 100 block of East May Street told police Friday that she obtained an order of protection from DuPage County against a man. It had not been served yet. Officers served the man with the order. He left the house without any problems.
Warrants
- James Kalenian, 60, of Lombard, was arrested about 11 a.m. Thursday at his workplace in the 600 block of North York Street on a DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrant. He was released on bond.
- Joselino N. Perez-Garcia, 33, of Bensenville, was arrested about 7 p.m. Saturday at York Street and Diversey Avenue on a DuPage County warrant and charges of driving with a revoked license and driving with a revoked registration. He was released on bond.
Drug possession
- Jarromy I. Childers, 22, of Chicago, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Thursday at Church and Grand avenues on two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and counts of unlawful possession of marijuana and tinted windows. Childers was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Failure to notify
- Patricia M. Ore, 59, of Elmhurst, was cited about 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of East Vallette Street on a charge of failure to give information after striking an unattended vehicle. She was released on bond.
- Kristoffer T. Gomez, 32, of Westmont, was arrested about 5 p.m. Thursday at Route 83 and North Avenue on charges of leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failing to provide information, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving with no valid driver's license. He was released on bond.
- Aldona Korsaklene, 74, of Mount Prospect, was cited about 6:30 p.m. at North Avenue and Route 83 on charges of failing to give information at an attended accident involving vehicle damage and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident. She was released on bond.
DUIs
- Joseph Hayes, 47, of Itasca, was arrested about 8 p.m. Friday at Spring Road and McKinley Avenue on a charge of DUI. He was released on bond.
- Mark Smith, 57, of Chicago, was arrested about 1 a.m. Saturday at Clinton and North avenues on DUI and improper lane usage. He was released on bond.
- Miguel Contreras, 39, of Berkeley, was arrested about 1 a.m. Sunday in the 900 block of South Route 83 on charges of DUI, obstructing justice, impeding the flow of traffic, driving an uninsured car and improper lane usage. He was released on bond.
