District 205 Board Delays Referendum Vote

The board wishes to discuss Superintendent Dr. Moyer's commitment to the district.

ELMHURST, IL — The District 205 board of education has delayed the vote on a possible referendum until Monday, Aug. 20. According to a release from the district, the board has learned within the last 24 hours that Superintendent Dr. David Moyer recently applied for a superintendent's position in a large, out-of-state district.

The board said Moyer has since withdrawn from the preliminary search for that position. However, the board wants time to further discuss Moyer's commitment to the district.

"While we, the board, believe this is the community’s referendum, we want to ensure its leader is committed to D205 at this time,” School Board President Kara Caforio said in a release.
