District 205 Forms Community Advisory Team

District 205 is working to create a Master Facility Plan that will focus on educational needs for students.

ELMHURST, IL — District 205 is working to create a Master Facility Plan that will focus on educational needs for students, including such possibilities as STEM, All Day Kindergarten, and Future Ready Learning. The plan will also look to address pressing maintenance/facility needs and safety priorities.

The district said a Community Advisory Team including representatives from all schools and neighborhoods, parents, non-parents, and community leaders will be formed early in the engagement process. They will be charged with reviewing communication documents and presentations in early April before they are shared the broader community to:

  • Ensure that messages and materials are clear and easy-to-understand
  • Help anticipate community questions and concerns
  • Offer suggestions to make sure the District is using every opportunity to reach stakeholders

The district said it plans to offer many opportunities for parents, staff and the community to weigh in on the Master Facility Plan. The CAT is just one part of the engagement process, to help guide the district in communicating this work.
