A man knocked on a woman's door, saying he needed to get back his belongings, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a disturbance, a chronic nuisance, trespassing, threatening messages, a missing car and scams. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Disturbance
- A resident in the 200 block of South Grace Avenue told police Sunday that a man was knocking on her door. The man said he wanted to get into the house to get back his property. The resident is working on getting an order of protection against the man.

- The city on Thursday issued a chronic nuisance warning to a household in the 400 block of East Ridge Avenue.
Trespassing
- Officers gave a no-trespass notice to a person who walked into the employee area about 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St.

- A resident in the 200 block of East North Avenue told police Thursday about receiving threatening text messages. An officer spoke with the person, who admitted to sending the messages. Charges are pending.
- A resident in the 700 block of South Fairview Avenue told police Friday that someone called him several times and left threatening voicemails. An investigation is pending.
Missing car
- A resident on Elm Creek Drive told police Thursday that someone took his car without permission and has refused to return it. An investigation is pending.
Scams
- A resident in the 500 block of South Swain Avenue told police about 9 p.m. Thursday that he received a phone call from someone who said his parents were being held at gunpoint in Wheaton. The person demanded payment through bitcoin. Wheaton police checked the parents' house and found they were safe.
- A resident in the 200 block of North West Avenue told police Friday that she received an email from PayPal about an alleged purchase she made in Peru. The resident contacted the listed phone number and spoke to a person purporting to be a PayPal customer service representative. The person requested the resident buy gift cards to resolve the issue. The victim bought the cards and provided the information to the stranger.
Repossessed
- A person at Super Ego Holding, a trucking firm at 677 N. Larch Ave., told police Friday that his truck was repossessed and that he had not been able to retrieve his personal items.
Converter thefts
- A catalytic converter was stolen between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday from a car at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road. Another converter was stolen about 2 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of South York Street.
Fall
- A man lost his footing and fell on the sidewalk about 8:30 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of South York Street. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Porch piracy
- A package was stolen about 12:30 p.m. Saturday at an apartment complex on Elm Creek Drive.
