Disturbances at Eatery, Homes: Elmhurst Cops
An intoxicated man became argumentative in an Elmhurst restaurant, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving disturbances at a restaurant and homes, an egging, retail theft, check fraud and forgery. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Restaurant disturbance
- Police were called to 100 South Chop House, 100 S. York St., about 9:30 p.m. New Year's Eve because of a disturbance. A man at the bar appeared highly intoxicated. When the restaurant asked him to leave, he became argumentative. He was given a no-trespass notice and escorted home.
Domestic disturbances

- Police were called to a domestic battery Thursday in the 200 block of Illinois Street. A woman who suffered a scrape said she got into an argument with another person, who left before officers arrived. An investigation is pending.
- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 7 a.m. Monday in the 200 block of East First Street. A woman confronted a man about missing prescription pills. The man said the woman struck him and that he pushed her away. No complaints were signed.
Egging
- Someone egged a house between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the 600 block of South Parkside Avenue. An investigation is pending.
Identity theft

- Someone fraudulently used a debit card a number of times Thursday at a business at 416 N. York St. The victim contacted her bank and deactivated the card.
Retail theft
- A man stole multiple cologne products about 9 p.m. Thursday at Walgreens, 160 N. Robert Palmer Drive. The man was last seen heading north on York Street. The man was described as black, 30 to 40 years old, and wearing a straight-brimmed hat with a black bill, black sunglasses, a blue surgical mask, a dark blue zip-up winter coat, light blue medical-style pants and white gym shoes. An investigation is pending.
- Video surveillance showed a man and a woman stealing tequila about 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St. The man was described as black, 35 years old, and wearing a tan hat, a dark blue puffy coat, bright blue pants and white shoes. The woman was described as black, having long black braided hair, and wearing a white hat, a black puffy coat, light blue leggings, and black and white moon boots.
- A man and a woman stole various items about 9 a.m. Saturday at Jewel, 944 S. York St. They left in a red sedan, heading west on Butterfield Road. The man was described as black, 40 to 60 years old, having a heavy build, and wearing a gray winter coat, a black puffy coat, black pants and shoes. The woman was described as white, 40 to 60 years old, having red or auburn hair, having a thin build, and wearing a purple sweatsuit, black snow boots and a backpack.
Theft
- Someone stole a catalytic converter from a 2003 Honda CRV between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday at Elmhurst Extended Care Center, 200 E. Lake St.
- A suspect stole a Milwaukee brand reciprocating saw from a car about 12:30 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of West Alexander Boulevard. The suspect tried to enter other cars in the area, last seen heading west on Alexander.
Check fraud
- Spring Inn, 552 S. Spring Road, mailed a check to one of its vendors Dec. 15. Upon looking at its bank statement, the business discovered the check had been washed and cashed for a different amount.
Forgery
- Charm Thai BBQ, 426 N. York St., told police that someone forged two of the company's checks and tried to cash them. A stop payment was put on the checks, and the money has been refunded to the business' account.
