Dog Attacks, Harassment: Elmhurst Cops
Two people were the victims of dog attacks in the last week, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handled cases involving dog attacks, harassment, domestic disturbances, stolen converters and a missing woman. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Dog attacks
- A woman told police that she was walking her dog when two dogs being walked by another person broke loose and attacked her dog. The woman's legs got caught up in the dogs' leashes, causing her to fall. She scraped her knee and wrist. It happened about 8 a.m. Tuesday near Linden and Adams. Officers checked the area for the dogs, but could not find them.
- A person making a delivery was bitten on the left calf by a dog, which was with its owner. The owner told an officer the dog was likely startled, causing it to react. A mark was seen on the victim's calf, but it did not appear that skin was broken. The incident happened about 5 p.m. Tuesday near Berkley and Utley. The report was sent to DuPage County Animal Services.
Harassment

- An employee of Integra Health Care, 321 W. Lake St., told police Monday that someone at work has been harassing him for six months. The employee informed the human resources department as well. The suspect was contacted and denied the harassment. The suspect said he would no longer have contact with the employee.
Marijuana in dog
- The owners of an 8-week-old bulldog mix on Tuesday took the dog to Elmhurst Animal Care Center, 850 S. Riverside Drive, because it was having seizures. It was learned the dog had ingested marijuana. The owners were given an estimate to treat the dog. They then left the clinic. Police could not find them. The dog was listed as abandoned.
Domestic disturbances

- A domestic disturbance happened about 10 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of South Fair Avenue. A woman said a man pushed her during an argument. The officer could see no injuries. Both people agreed to separate for the evening.
- A domestic disturbance happened about 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of North Michigan Street. A woman said she was arguing with another person. She declined to file a complaint. They agreed to separate for the night.
Stolen converters
- A catalytic converter was stolen from a van between 7:30 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday in a parking lot in the 200 block of West Brush Hill Road. A Sawzall blade was on the ground next to the van. It was placed into evidence.
- A catalytic converter was stolen from a white Chevrolet Express van about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in a parking lot on the south side of the Timothy Christian Schools campus, 1061 S. Prospect Ave.
Building damaged twice
- Someone entered an unlocked, unoccupied commercial rental property on the first floor of The Marke apartment building, 100 Addison Ave., between April 28 and May 16. Furniture pieces were thrown around the room. A TV, vases, lamps and furniture were broken. A gallon of black paint was thrown on the walls and floor.
- Upon arriving to work about 7 a.m. Tuesday, a person found an exterior door of a commercial space ajar at the Marke apartment building. Someone smashed a mirror.
Missing woman
- Officers found a woman walking barefoot about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday near York and Adams. She could not remember her name or provide any identifying details about herself. She was found to be missing from Chicago. She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital. She was released to the custody of her mother.
