Dog Left Hanging By Leash: Elmhurst Cops
The dog got into a dire situation that resulted in a charge against a semi-truck driver, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – Officers were called after a pit bull on a leash was in a dire situation in the northside Elmhurst industrial park, police said.
The dog was inside the cab of a semi-truck about 12:30 p.m. Thursday at 740 N. Larch Ave. The truck was left running with the windows down, police said.
The dog jumped from the truck and was left hanging by the leash, police said. The dog was freed and taken to DuPage County Animal Control because the owner was not around, police said.

The owner was later identified as Nasheem Q. Whye, 41, of Blackwood, N.J. He was cited on charges of abandoning an animal where it may suffer injury, hunger or exposure and leaving an unattended vehicle running with the keys in the ignition.
