Neglected Dog, Disorderly Conduct: Elmhurst Cops
A dog was neglected in a local neighborhood, police said. It was taken into protective custody.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police have handled cases involving animal neglect, disorderly conduct, DUIs, stolen vehicles and car burglaries. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Animal neglect
- After a report of animal neglect, a dog was taken into protective custody about 4:30 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of Argyle Street. An investigation is pending.

- Daniel Guevara of Melrose Park, and Christian Salgado of Northlake, both 18, were cited about 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Classic Cinemas York, 150 N. York St., on charges of disorderly conduct. The men were accused of confronting someone, causing her to feel alarmed and disturbed. They were released on bond.
DUIs
- Manuel Chavira, 28, of Chicago, was arrested about 3 a.m. Saturday at Route 83 and St. Charles Road on charges of aggravated DUI, no valid driver's license, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving an uninsured car. In the same stop, Edwin Roman-Ramos, 35, of Addison, was arrested on a charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- Edward Rodriguez, 29, of Elk Grove Village, was arrested about 6:30 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of East Third Street on a charge of DUI. He was released on bond.
Obstructing identification

- Amya Scott, 19, of Aurora, was arrested about 4:30 a.m. Saturday at West Avenue and Alexander Boulevard on charges of obstructing identification and possession of a fictitious identification card. Scott gave officers a false name and presented a fictitious driver's license, police said. She was released on bond.
Stolen vehicle
- A bronze 2019 International tractor was stolen between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Super Ego Logistics, 677 N. Larch Ave. An investigation is pending.
- A resident in the 1000 block of Riverside Drive told police that someone entered her unlocked car and used the garage door opener to enter the garage about 9 p.m. Thursday. Nothing was stolen. An investigation is pending.
Wallet theft
- An unattended wallet was stolen about 2 p.m. Thursday at Jewel, 944 S. York St. One of the victim's cars was used to make a purchase and do online transfers. An investigation is pending.
Suspicious drivers
- Upon seeing an officer, the drivers of three suspicious cars sped away about 3 a.m. Friday at York Street and St. Charles Road. They were last seen headed east on North. The cars were a Lexus RX SUV, a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee and an unspecified SUV.
Car burglaries
- An unlocked car with its keys inside was driven without permission between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. Friday at a business at 977 S. Route 83. Someone drove the vehicle through a chain-link fence, then left it at 915 S. Riverside Drive. An investigation is pending.
- A resident in the 1000 block of Riverside Drive told police that someone entered her unlocked car and used the garage door opener to enter the garage about 9 p.m. Thursday. Nothing was stolen. An investigation is pending.
