Domestic Arrest At Elmhurst Veterans Post: Police

In another case, a woman was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of domestic battery, aggravated battery, DUI, burglary and theft. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Domestic battery

  • A 51-year-old Waterman man was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion post, 310 W. Butterfield Road, on two counts of domestic battery. Police said he battered a woman during an argument. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 51-year-old woman who lives in the apartment building at 135 E. North Ave. in Elmhurst was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Friday at her home on two counts of domestic battery. Police said she struck another person several times during an argument. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Aggravated battery

  • Santiana Walker, 27, of Rolling Meadows, was arrested about 9 p.m. Saturday at Route 83 and North Avenue on charges of DUI, aggravated battery to a police officer, driving with a suspended license, endangering the life of a child (two counts), failure to secure a child in a restraint, driving an uninsured car, improper lane usage, unsafe tires, and driving with one headlight. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Burglary

  • Sonia Rivas, 40, of Chicago, was arrested about Thursday on charges of burglary and theft. Police said her arrest was in connection with stealing cosmetics about 12:30 p.m. Jan. 31 from CVS Pharmacy, 110 W. North Ave. Rivas was also wanted on a Lake County Sheriff's Office warrant. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Retail theft

  • A 54-year-old Addison man was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Friday at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on a charge of retail theft. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

DUI

  • A 47-year-old Hillside woman was arrested about 8 p.m. Friday at North Avenue and Route 83 on a DUI charge. She was released.
  • A 36-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Friday at North Avenue and Indiana Street on charges of aggravated DUI, driving with a suspended license, unlawful use of a phone while driving and driving an uninsured car. He was released.
