Domestic Battery, Burglary: Elmhurst Arrests
A man was charged with cocaine possession after officers responded to a domestic disturbance, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police charged people with domestic battery, burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle and DUI, among other offenses. Here is information from the reports:
Domestic battery
- Timothy Griffith, 46, of Wauconda, was arrested about 5 a.m. Wednesday at Clarion Hotel, 933 Riverside Drive, on charges of domestic battery, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to a police report, Griffith was found in a hotel room that contained cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Burglary

- Otha McClendon, 56, of Chicago, was arrested about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at Jewel, 944 S. York, on charges of burglary and retail theft. Police said the person was suspected of several thefts in the area. McClendon was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Stolen vehicle
- Rush Cordon, 19, of Hillside, was arrested about 9 a.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of South Route 83 on a charge of possession of a stolen vehicle. According to a police report, an officer found a suspicious black Hyundai Elantra at Whole Foods Market. It was stolen in Bellwood a day earlier. Cordon was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
DUI

- Jesus Barrientos, 42, of Stone Park, was arrested about 7 a.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of North Michigan on charges of DUI and improper lane usage. He was released on bond.
- Brett Willis, 26, of Hillside, was arrested about 5 p.m. Tuesday at St. Charles and Poplar on charges of DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage. He was released on bond.
- Rashonda Frazier, 30, of Lisle, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at Commonwealth and Butterfield on charges of DUI, possession of a fictitious identification, driving an uninsured vehicle, tinted windows and improper lane usage. She was released on bond.
Weapons charge
- Latifah Curry, 28, of Maywood, was arrested about 8 p.m. Wednesday at North and Villa on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of marijuana, driving with a revoked license and driving an uninsured vehicle. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Driving violations
- Dennis Roach, 36, of Chicago, was cited about 8 p.m. Monday at York and South on charges of driving with a suspended license, illegal transportation of open alcohol, disobeying a stop sign and driving an uninsured vehicle. He was released on bond.
- Amelia Smith, 33, of Chicago, was cited shortly after midnight Thursday at Route 83 and St. Charles on charges of driving with a suspended license and improper lighting. She was released on bond.
