Domestic Battery, Missing Man: Elmhurst Cops
Police responded to domestics at two local hotels, with a victim going to the hospital, authorities said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving domestic battery, a missing man who was found, a dispute, a burglary that turned out to be a dispute, retail theft, harassment, battery and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Domestic battery
- A 25-year-old Berwyn man was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sunday at Courtyard by Marriott hotel, 370 N. Route 83, on two counts of domestic battery. Police said the victim was suffering from injuries outside the hotel, alleging a man shoved her. She was taken to the hospital. The man was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
- A 50-year-old Hickory Hills man was arrested about 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Clarion Inn, 933 S. Riverside Drive, on two counts of domestic battery. Police said her boyfriend struck her. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Missing man found

- An Elmhurst man suffering from dementia went missing late Thursday morning. He was found near North and West avenues. He was bleeding from his head after falling in the area. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Dispute
- Police responded to what was thought to be a burglary in progress about 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of North Kenilworth Avenue. It was later determined to be a civil dispute.
Retail theft

- A man stole two wine bottles about 4 p.m. Thursday at Mariano's, 678 N. York St. An investigation is pending. The man was described as white with multiple scars and wearing a black jacket and gray shorts.
Harassment
- A resident in the 400 block of North Emroy Avenue told police Monday that someone was harassing her. She had filed an order of protection that had not been served. An investigation is pending.
Battery
- A suspect entered a room at The Grove of Elmhurst nursing home, 127 W. Diversey Ave., and punched a man three times about 5:30 a.m. Saturday. The suspect has dementia and did not recall being involved in a battery.
DUI
- A 34-year-old La Porte, Indiana, man was arrested about 5 p.m. Thursday at York Street and St. Charles Road on aggravated DUI, driving with a suspended license, disobeying a traffic control device, driving an uninsured car, failing to secure a new registration and driving a car while using a phone. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 19-year-old Lombard man was arrested about 6 a.m. Thursday in the 500 block of South York Street on charges of consumption of alcohol by a minor and driving while intoxicated under age 21. Police said they were called about an unresponsive person. The man was taken to the police station and released.
- A 25-year-old Mount Prospect man was arrested about 1 a.m. Saturday at Lake and McNair streets on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, expired registration and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the police station and then released.
Warrants
- A 37-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 10 block of Willow Tree Court was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Thursday on DuPage County and Villa Park warrants and a charge of making an improper U-turn. Police said he was on an electronic GPS monitoring device. He was released to Villa Park police.
- A 34-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Diversey Avenue and York Street on warrants and charges of driving an uninsured car and speeding. He was released.
Drugs
- A 55-year-old Berwyn woman was arrested about 7 p.m. Saturday at Route 83 and Lake Street on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, unlawful possession of marijuana, using a phone while driving and failing to signal when changing lanes. She was released.
