Domestic, Car Break-In: Elmhurst Cops
An argument got physical after one person started taking video, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a domestic disturbance, a car break-in, an attempted burglary, threatening messages, vandalism and check fraud. Here is information from the latest reports:
Domestic disturbance
- Police were called to a domestic disturbance about 1 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of North Kenilworth Avenue. An argument between two females got physical inside the home after one of them attempted to video the other during the dispute. An investigation is pending.

- Someone entered an unlocked Nissan Altima and stole the owner's Apple AirPods from the center console between 2 p.m. Nov. 4 and 10 a.m. Nov. 7 in the 100 block of East Van Buren.
Attempted burglary
- A resident in the 400 block of East St. Charles Road found the door latch from a storm door lying on the ground on Tuesday. The resident does not have cameras, and there were no reports of burglaries in the neighborhood.

- A woman in the 200 block of West First Street received threatening text messages from her ex-boyfriend Tuesday. An officer called the man and asked that he end communications with the woman.
Vandalism
- The driver's side doors of a car were scratched about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of East First Street. An investigation is pending.
Identity theft
- A resident in the 200 block of North Ridgeland Avenue told police Monday that she received a credit monitoring alert that someone had used his personal information in an attempt to open a line of credit through Bank of America.
Check fraud
- A resident in the 600 block of North Indiana Street told police Wednesday that she discovered one of her checks was fraudulently written to a stranger. It contained the resident's information with a forged signature. An investigation is pending.
