Domestic Disturbances In Elmhurst Neighborhoods: Police

In one case, a man told officers that someone else in his house punched him.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handled cases involving domestic disturbances, disorderly conduct, a bullet hole, theft of services, a stolen car and drugs. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Domestic disturbances

  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 10 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of South Monterey Avenue. A man said another person in the household punched him. The other person said the man grabbed him and threw him to the ground. Police said no arrests were made because they heard conflicting stories and saw no signs of injury.
  • Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 2 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of East Cayuga Avenue. A household member said another person grabbed her and scratched her. The suspect said two others were in an argument and that the incident got out of hand. Peace was restored.

Disorderly conduct

  • A resident in the 200 block of West Butterfield Road told police that two youths rang her doorbell and then kicked her side basement window. On the following day, she noticed eggs on the side wall of her house. The incidents were on Friday and Saturday.

Bullet hole

  • A resident in the 100 block of North Caroline Avenue told police Saturday about a bullet hole on the resident's house. An investigation is pending.

Theft of services

  • The Avis rental car agency, 890 N. York St., told police Thursday that a person who rented a car Jan. 19 had yet to return it. The suspect did not respond to a certified letter. An investigation is pending.

Stolen car

  • A car was stolen about 3 a.m. Friday from SpringHill Suites hotel, 410 W. Lake St.

Drugs found

  • Someone found four baggies containing white powder Saturday at Delta Sonic Car Wash, 600 W. North Ave. At the police station, the powder tested positive for a controlled substance. The packets were placed into evidence for destruction.

Woman shot

  • An officer responded about 7:30 a.m. Sunday at Elmhurst Hospital to a woman who said she had been shot while lying in the backseat of her car in a suburb just west of Chicago. She refused to give more information. An investigation is pending.
