Domestic, Raccoon Shooting: Elmhurst Cops

An Elmhurst woman faces two domestic battery charges after an incident at her house, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of domestic battery, discharging an air gun, trespassing and DUI. Here is information from the latest arrest log:

Domestic battery

  • A 33-year-old Elmhurst woman who lives in the 800 block of South Hawthorne Avenue was arrested about 5 p.m. Friday at her house on two counts of domestic battery. Police said she struck two people. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

  • A 74-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 300 block of West Lake Street was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Saturday at his house on a charge of discharging an air gun in city limits. Police said the man admitted to shooting a raccoon with the weapon. He was released.

Trespassing

  • A 28-year-old Lombard woman was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Friday on Maple Tree Lane on a charge of criminal trespassing to a residence. Police said they found the woman entered a victim's home. She was released.

DUI

  • A 58-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 500 block of South Swain Avenue was arrested about 5 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of South York Street on a DUI charge. He was taken to the police station and released.
  • A 37-year-old Berkeley man was arrested about 11 p.m. Friday at Grand Avenue and Church Street on charges of DUI, driving on the wrong side of the road and illegal transportation of alcohol. He was taken to the police station and released.
