An Elmhurst man is accused of domestic violence after pushing victim, police said.

ELMHURST, IL — The Elmhurst Police Department released its latest blotter Monday, which included a local man's arrest on domestic violence charges. Here is the information from the police department's reports:

  • Joseph Cascella Jr., 24, of Elmhurst, was arrested shortly after 2 p.m. Feb. 6 in the 600 block of West Crockett on two counts of domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, Cascella had been drinking alcohol, pushed the victim, grabbed his arm and knocked the hat off of his head.
  • Marlen Cervantes-Rodri, 29, of Chicago, was arrested shortly after 9 a.m. Feb. 6 at Commonwealth and Butterfield on charges of use of marijuana in a motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to wear a seat belt. The suspect was released on bond.
  • Raven Brooks, 33, of Bellwood, was arrested about 10 a.m. Feb. 6 at Butterfield and Chatham on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding. She was released on bond.
  • Myles D. Thomas, 18, of Chicago, was arrested shortly before midnight Feb. 6 in the 100 block of North Addison Avenue on a charge of false use of an ID card. He was released on bond. According to a police report, Thomas tried to use a false identification to get into a bar.
  • Isaiah K. Smith, 23, of Schaumburg, was arrested about 1 a.m. Feb. 7 in the 200 block of Boyd on charges of five counts of attempted burglary of a vehicle and criminal trespass to a motor vehicle. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. A story appeared in Elmhurst Patch over the weekend about Smith.
  • Roshara Janea Johnson, 30, of Bellwood, was arrested about 7:30 a.m. Feb. 7 at Van Buren and Colfax on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. She was released on bond.
  • James B. Long III, 36, of Addison, was arrested shortly after noon Feb. 7 at Spring and St. Charles on charges of aggravated DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Christina Chavira, 42, of Broadview, was arrested about 2 p.m. Feb. 7 at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on charges of retail theft and possession of burglary tools She was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, Chavira concealed $340 worth of jewelry and clothing and left the store without paying. The suspect used wire snips to remove security tags.
  • Alexi Moodberry, 24, of Hennepin, was arrested shortly after 5 p.m. Feb. 7 at Route 83 and St. Charles on charges of leaving the scene of an accident and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. She was released on bond.
  • Sammy Gray, 30, of Lombard, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, on a charge of retail theft. He was released on bond.
  • Shavon M. Laws, 33, of Chicago, was arrested at 10 p.m. Feb. 7 at Roosevelt and York on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving with one headlight. She was released on bond.
  • Linzy A. Geller, 32, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 7 in the 900 block of North York on charges of no valid driver's license, unlawful use of an electronic communication device and expired registration. She was released on bond.
  • Jovanny Carrera, 29, of Bellwood, was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Feb. 8 at Berkley and St. Charles on charges of no possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, disobeying a traffic signal and tinted windows. She was released on bond.
  • Erlyn Carrera, 21, of Melrose Park, was arrested at 9 p.m. Feb. 8 at First and York on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver and disobeying a traffic control device. She was released on bond.
  • Police responded to an "irate" person about 11 p.m. Feb. 5 at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road. Hospital staff were able to calm him down and allowed him stay with his girlfriend for the night.
  • A man entered a JJ Enterprises laundromat, 954 N. York St., about 3:30 a.m. Feb. 6 and went into the car wash section of the building. The man tried to pry open an office window, but was unsuccessful. He then walked down a hallway and was able to gain entry to the office, where he removed four envelopes. He left north on York in a silver-colored Ford Excursion. He was described as Hispanic with a mustache and wearing a black jacket labeled "Security" across the back, black pants and black boots.
  • Police are seeking a woman who is believed to have stolen a debit card from a wallet between 3 and 9 p.m. Feb. 2 in the 700 block of Geneva Avenue. The victim said he left his wallet with debit cards inside his locked car. He asked the suspect to retrieve an item from the car, and the following day, he learned his debit card was missing. His bank account reflected $818 in unauthorized charges.
  • Police responded to a call of employee theft at Thornton's gas station, 476 N. York, about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 7. The thefts occurred from Feb 4 to 6. A representative of the gas station told officers that an employee was in the back room who had stolen cash, cigarettes and food. The suspect was released without charges, pending the gas station's investigation of the thefts.
  • A pizza delivery driver reported that he left his 2006 gray Honda Civic unattended and running about 12:30 a.m. Feb. 9 in the parking lot where he worked, Rosati's Pizza, 687 N. York. Upon returning, he discovered the car missing.
  • About noon Feb. 9, police responded to a neighbor dispute over a dog in the 300 block of Commonwealth. The person who called said that while his dog was on an electronic leash, the suspect yelled at him for not using a leash and threatened him and his dog. The suspect told police that his neighbor's dog is unfriendly and is concerned the dog will attack. Neither party wished to file a complaint.
  • An employee at Francesca's, 174 N. York St., reported he left his wallet unattended at the server's station about 4 p.m. Feb. 9. Upon returning, his wallet containing two identification cards and $400 in cash was missing. The server's station is in a high-traffic area for employees and customers.
  • Two people received citations shortly before 8 p.m. Feb. 9 in the 500 block of West Belden on charges of soliciting without a permit. An officer responded after a resident called.

Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
