Domestics, Solicitors: Elmhurst Cops
Officers responded to two domestic disturbance calls in the last few days.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving domestic disturbances, door-to-door solicitors, sexual assault, scams and identity theft. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:
Domestics disturbances
- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 3 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of West Gladys Avenue. Two people were arguing when one was said to have pushed the other. No arrests were made because of conflicting stories and no physical markings.
- Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 7 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of North Elm Avenue. An argument was believed to have turned physical when one person hit another. The suspect denied any contact. Police made no arrests because of conflicting statements and no evidence of physical contact.
Solicitors

- Officers who received a call about suspicious people found the people were trying to sell door to door without a permit about 6:30 p.m. Thursday near Madison and Chatham. Police warned they would cite them if they continued soliciting without a valid Elmhurst solicitation license.
Sexual assault
- An officer was called to Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Road, for a woman who told staff she was sexually assaulted. The woman did not want to speak with police and was unsure whether she wanted to sign a complaint. An investigation is pending.
Scams

- A resident in the 500 block of North Van Auken Avenue told police Friday that he electronically transferred money for a rental property. The resident then realized it was a scam after he was unable to contact the suspect.
- A resident in the 300 block of South West Avenue told police Thursday that he received an electronic check with instructions to cash it and send the money to another person through Venmo. The resident sent the money, which was later returned to him. An investigation is pending.
Identity theft
- Residents in the 500 block of South Fern and 100 block of North Avon told police Saturday that someone used their information to open Bank of America accounts.
