Dr. M. Raashid Sheikh joins Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare

Dr. Sheikh specializes in hepatobiliary, pancreatic and upper gastrointestinal surgery.

M. Raashid Sheikh, MD, a board certified surgeon who specializes in hepatobiliary, pancreatic and upper gastrointestinal surgery, has joined the cancer care team at Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare.

Dr. Sheikh’s clinical expertise includes treating benign and malignant diseases of the liver, bile ducts, gallbladder and pancreas, as well as diseases of esophagus and stomach, with a focus on minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) approaches.

Dr. Sheikh received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Kashmir in India and completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He performed his fellowship training in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and Methodist Medical Center in Dallas.

Dr. Sheikh is a member of several organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, Society of Surgical Oncology, Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association and Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract.
