DUIs, Drug Possession: Elmhurst Cops

Three people in their 30s were arrested on DUI charges in the last few days, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving DUI, drugs, a visitation violation, vandalism and an emergency order, among other issues. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

DUIs

  • Robert Williams, 38, of Elburn, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Thursday at Roosevelt and Brush Hill on charges of DUI and driving too fast for conditions. He was released on bond.
  • Anton Finoguine, 30, of Buffalo Grove, was arrested about 3 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of East Berkley on charges of DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver. He was released on bond.
  • Jessica Huerte, 35, of Montgomery, was arrested about 5 a.m. Saturday at Spring and St. Charles on charges of DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and disobeying a traffic control device. She was released on bond.

  • Shawn Bambach, 31, of Algonquin, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Thursday in the 400 block of North York on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance (two counts), aggravated driving with a revoked license, DUI (drugs) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Alcohol violations

  • James and Elizabeth Plummer, 55, both of Elmhurst, were cited about 11 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of West Second on charges of allowing a minor to possess or consume alcohol. They were released on bond.

  • A resident in the 400 block of North Emroy Avenue told police Thursday that a suspect violated a court order for visitation by not allowing the victim the first right of refusal. The suspect said he would go to the police station to be served his new court date.

Downtown fall

  • A man fell after stepping down from a curb and losing his footing about 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of South York Street. He was taken to the hospital. An officer said he did not observe any defects or damage to the sidewalk or curb.

Converter theft

  • A catalytic converter was stolen overnight Thursday from a car parked at Courtyard by Marriott hotel, 370 N. Route 83.

Vandalism

  • Graffiti on the top floor of the parking deck at 149 N. Addison was found about 5 a.m. Friday.

Check fraud

  • A resident in the 300 block of East Ridge told police Friday that someone altered one of her checks and cashed it. The resident reported the theft to her bank and was reimbursed. An investigation is pending.

Emergency order

  • A person visited the police station Friday and presented an emergency order of protection against a suspect. An officer went to Al Piemonte Buick, 364 W. Grand Ave., and served the suspect with the order.

Stolen package

  • A resident in a building in the 200 block of East Park Avenue told police Friday that a package was removed from a common area. The package was delivered to an area that can be accessed by residents.

Found drunk in public way

  • A drunk person under 21 was found lying in the public way about 5:30 a.m. Sunday near South and York streets. The person was cited on a charge of being a minor consuming alcohol. He was released to his mother.

Damage

  • A metal pellet damaged a first-floor window overnight Saturday in the 100 block of North Maple Avenue.
  • Several parts of a car were damaged between 1:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. Sunday at Clarion Hotel, 933 Riverside Drive.

Driving violations

  • Helder Diaz-Rodriguez, 22, of Cicero, was cited about 7:30 p.m. Saturday at York and North End on charges of driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and tinted windows. He was released on bond.
  • Alejandra Mendoza-Espino, 31, of Melrose Park, was cited about 10 p.m. Sunday at Villa and North on charges of driving with a revoked license and tinted windows. She was released on bond.
  • Barbara Haynes, 32, of Chicago, was cited about 10:30 p.m. Sunday at North and Berteau on charges of having no valid driver's license, driving an uninsured vehicle and disobeying a stop sign.
  • Charles Manning, 34, of Chicago, was cited about 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of West Butterfield on charges of driving with a revoked license and unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver. He was released on bond.
  • Tracey Holmes, 32, of Villa Park, was cited about 9:30 p.m. Friday at Glade and North on charges of driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured vehicle, failure to wear a seat belt and unlawful use of a phone while driving. She was released on bond.
  • Junior Quevedo Caceres, 18, of Chicago, was cited about 12:30 a.m. Saturday at York and Grand on charges of no driver's license and improper lighting. He was released on bond.
