Duo Nabbed For Burglary In Elmhurst Neighborhood: Cops
In another case, an Elmhurst man faces two counts of domestic battery, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police charged people with burglary, domestic battery, unnecessary noise, retail theft, assault, reckless driving, soliciting without a license and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst arrest log:
Burglary
- Jermill Washington, 32, and Carl Young, 31, both of Chicago, were arrested about 1 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of South Hawthorne Avenue on charges of burglary and theft. Police said the men burglarized an unlocked vehicle owned by Rosas Construction. Police did not say what the men were accused of stealing. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Domestic battery

- A 52-year-old Elmhurst man who lives in the 300 block of North Walnut Street was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Sunday at his house on two counts of domestic battery. Police said the man pushed and punched a woman. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Unnecessary noise
- A 34-year-old man was cited about 6 p.m. Friday at Berteau and DuPage avenues on a charge of unnecessary noise. Police said the man was doing construction work past the allowable hours.
Retail theft

- A 30-year-old Bellwood man was arrested about 11 p.m. Friday at Jewel, 944 S. York St., on a retail theft charge. He was released.
Assault
- A 47-year-old Cuba City, Wisconsin, man was arrested about 1:30 p.m. Saturday at CVS Pharmacy, 110 W. North Ave., on charges of assault and disorderly conduct. Police said the man was acting aggressively and yelling at others in the store. He was released.
Reckless driving
- A 55-year-old Johnson City, New York, man was cited about 9:30 p.m. Saturday on charges of reckless driving, driving a car in an unsafe condition, improperly U-turning, illegally flashing lights, using a phone while driving, stopping in the roadway and driving an uninsured car. The man was last seen in Elmhurst at Route 83 and North Avenue. He was later found and then released.
Soliciting without license
- A 21-year-old Hollywood, Florida, man was cited about 6:30 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of South Kenilworth Avenue on a charge of soliciting without a license. Police said the man was selling an electricity net-metering program.
DUI
- A 25-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Sunday at North and Melrose avenues on charges of DUI, speeding and failing to signal when required. He was taken to the police station and released.
Warrants
- A 37-year-old Chicago woman, a 37-year-old Chicago man and a 45-year-old Chicago woman were arrested shortly before midnight Friday at Jewel, 153 E. Schiller St., on warrants. A retail theft investigation involving the trio continues. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.
